Trustees Projects

The Trustees are responsible for the longevity of our property. Our property includes the church building (foundation laid in 1874), our former neighbor’s house converted to our office, a Scout Shack, a prayer garden, a playground, the Hunt family cemetery, and the rest of our grounds.

All of these combined need maintenance and improvement to provide a home for the life of the congregation. The trustees have frequent projects and work days to repair and improve the facilities.

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, our group took care of a handful of smaller tasks. We planted tulip and lilly bulbs for a fresh springtime, we removed the window a/c units from Agape, we cleaned up the leaves and brush around the lawn, and a few odds and ends. Thanks to everyone who came out to help.

Our September 2015 project morning targeted painting the window trim and replacing the storm windows. We also repaired part of the floor and cleaned the kitchen.

Our workday on November 22, 2014 focused on caulking the windows along Joppa Road. We also removed an old steel post for a spot light and a few other small tasks. Thanks to Merle, Steve, Glenn, Walter, and Ken for helping that day. As you can tell, it was a bit chilly.

Our fall workday was Saturday, October 25, 2014. We trimmed trees and cleaned up many of our flower beds.

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, our workday focus was to spread top soil around a large depression next to the Agape parking lot.

On Saturday, November 30, 2013 we rented an 80ft lift to replace the rope that holds our Christmas star. In addition to going to the top of the steeple, we replaced several flood lights around the church and trimmed some tree branches. The top of the steeple is very high, so we could not resist to take a few pictures from that vantage. The temptation was overwhelming to use the lift anywhere and everywhere we could take it. Much to our chagrin, we got the lift stuck in the mud, and with great effort and a little help from our friend, John, we were able to get it free before Monday’s pickup.

Fall Workday was Saturday, October 26, 2103 from 9:00am – 12:00 noon. Besides cleaning up the grounds, we worked on replacing outdoor light bulbs and cleaning Agape cellarway  drain. Thanks to the 18 people who showed up. Here are photos of our work.

Here are a few pictures from repairs to the hallway floor in October, 2013. Thanks to Glenn, Steve, and Monty (not pictured) for their work.
