Community Groups

Community groups that use our Hunt’s Memorial UMC are:

Alcoholics Anonymous – Three different AA groups meet at Hunt’s. The Monday night group meets at 8:30pm; the Wednesday group meets at 12:30pm; and the Friday night group meets at 8:30pm.

Boy Scouts of America – Hunt’s has a long history with sponsoring Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts units. Our “Scout Shack,” built in 1931, is the oldest building continually dedicated for Scouting in the Baltimore Area Council. Troop 319 was started in 1927 and continues to flourish as an active organization today.

Many Hunt’s congregation members have participated in scouting, either in Pack 319 or in other local groups over the decades, and several have achieved the high rank of Eagle Scout.

Scout Sunday is celebrated in February. The annual Pinewood Derby is held in Van Meter Hall, where scouts and their families and friends gather to race their hand-crafted cars.
