Mid High Youth Group

The Mid-High Youth Group is a fun and active youth group open to Middle High School students, grades 6-8. The middle high group meets every Sunday morning during the 10:00 worship service for their own form of contemporary Sunday School. They also have several fun and community involvement activities throughout the year.

The 2015 Pumpkin Carving Contest pictures are here.

The 2014 Pumpkin Carving Contest was great fun and here are the pictures.

In 2013, the Mid Highs raised money to fill 533 shoe boxes with gifts, enough to give one to every student in TWO schools this Christmas. Congrats to the Mid Highs for their fund raising and packing efforts. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the project.

We are proud to announce that $178 was raised  from our 2013 Pumpkin Carving Contest. The money will be used during our Christmas Present Project in December.

The November schedule is:

  • Saturday, Nov. 9 – help with evening Turkey Dinner, bussing / setting tables, sign-up at bullitin board outside Van Meter Hall
  • Sunday, Nov. 10 – regular Mid-High meeting during 10:00 service
  • Sunday, Nov. 17, 9:00 – “Random Acts of Leaf Raking Kindness”, please note: we meet at 9:00, rake leaves for unsuspecting church members, then go to a counselor’s home for a pizza party.
  • Sunday, Nov. 24 – regular Mid-High meeting during 10:00 service

In December we kick into gear for the 4th Annual Christmas Present Project. We will again present gifts to over 600 needy children at two Baltimore City elementary schools. We will give each youth group shopper ~$100 and assign a specific grade and gender to shop for. Filled shoeboxes and monetary donations for this project are due on December 8. We’ll have a box filling and wrapping party probably the weekend of Dec. 14 or 15. The delivery date to the schools will most likely be Friday, December 20.
