The Mid-High Youth Group is a fun and active youth group open to middle high school students, grades 6-8. The middle high group meets every Sunday morning during the 10:00 am worship service for their own form of contemporary Sunday School.
The mid highs participate in several fun and community involvement activities throughout the school year such as Food for Thought, pumpkin carving, field trips, and the Christmas Shoebox Project.
Through various fundraising programs, such as the pumpkin carving contest, the mid-highs raise money every year for the Christmas Shoebox Project, a program designed to help children who come from low-income homes.
The Christmas Shoebox Project is coordinated by the Middle High Youth Group. Its purpose is to bring holiday joy to children from low-income homes. An assortment of small and useful gifts that are purchased by with monetary donations, are collected, assembled, packaged, and wrapped into shoeboxes. The shoeboxes are then distributed to children attending elementary schools in the Baltimore-Metropolitan area. Every year, the number of shoeboxes grows to a larger number as this valuable life-long lesson is of helping others is taught.
