Board of Child Care

The Board of Child Care is a private non-profit organization providing a trauma informed continuum of care including community-based treatment, high intensity residential group homes, semi-independent living group homes, special education, early learning programs, treatment foster care, and adoption services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  They are guided by their core values of Safety, Integrity, Empathy, and Impact.

Their present locations are in Maryland (the Baltimore area, Hagerstown, southern MD, Denton), West Virginia (Martinsburg), and DC.  The main campus is in Randallstown, MD – just west of I-695, south of Liberty Road.

The Board of Child Care (BCC), a 501(c)3 organization, is a separate entity from the UMC; however, historically Auxiliary members have been affiliated with the UMC, plus two of the seats on their Board of Directors (BOD) are for the two UMC Bishops (or designated rep) of the two conferences in which BCC operates.

The BCC Auxiliary, managed and operated by volunteers, provides supplemental services and activities for the children within the BCC system; some of these activities include:

  • School supplies
  • Holiday parties in the fall
  • Gift cards to families for Thanksgiving
  • Christmas store for the children
  • High school graduation gifts
  • Summer road trips to ball games, parks, skate parks & museums
  • Welcome bags for new children
  • Cookie donations

Mission Highlight

Hunt’s Church contributes to this mission by collecting cookies in February, collecting Box Tops for Education throughout the year, and having a special offering each year to support the auxiliary.

The Auxiliary needs assistance throughout the year.

We are pleased to report that Hunt’s record total of February cookie donations is 386 dozen cookies! Thanks to everyone that has donated in the past. The children enjoy this treat so much. Please keep the fantastic organization in your prayers as they help to support at risk young people.
